Helping hotel guests to have an incredible stay with us at London Town Group Hotels was a key driver for the introduction of Amazon Alexa for Hospitality within our 72-room luxury Mercure Hyde Park Hotel in 2021.
6 months after we launched our virtual concierge service, we've rolled up a review of this smart concierge experience and looked at the ways Amazon Alexa helps our guests enjoy their stay in the heart of the city.
How does Amazon Alexa for Hospitality work?
By installing an Amazon Echo device in a hotel room, we help deliver rich, personalised guest experiences including room service for our guests. Requests for assistance can be dealt with promptly, ensuring guests have a positive experience, every time. Even when the front desk is busy, our guests can have their query about the local area or room service request dealt with promptly!
What can guests order?
Amazon Alexa for Hospitality offers customers a full smart concierge experience – our guests can order room service, request amenities as well as gain personalised and tailored recommendations, without having to leave the comfort of their room.
Just like their home, guests also enjoy being able to set a timer and even check the weather in London for the day ahead.
How do guests rate Amazon Alexa for Hospitality?
Our data insights show that 80% of guests are happy or very happy with the service, finding it easy to use. 12% more guests used room service in the month of November '21 versus the month before.
The majority of guests enjoyed using Amazon Alexa for Hospitality for music services, checking information and hotel service hours. Food and Beverage requests were also a significant part of usage patterns, demonstrating the valuable additional service to a guest's stay at our hotels.
