Love the fact that it’s a Bella Italia restaurant attached to the hotel for breakfast in the morning. So much choice and yummy food. Excellent location - right near Paddington train station and tucked away in a little square away from the hustle and bustle of the main road. Lovely room - love the high ceiling!

PROS

Location is FAB, can't be beat if you are on work or sight-seeing. Just a 2 min walk to Paddington Station, less than 5 mins to the Lancaster Gate station and Hyde Park
Good value (I booked online, and was upgraded for my first night too)
Bath is well stocked with dental kits, shower caps, soap-shampoo etc
Wifi worked well
Connected to Bella Italia for breakfast and all day dining
Small bar/cafe in the hotel
Staff was very friendly always

CONS
And this may not be to the Mercure, but most Paddington hotels are converted from older residential apartment blocks so rooms are a bit poky and small; views are not great. But from the lot, the Mercure was very good!

As I got an upgrade on the reservation we stayed in an excellent room. Big room, very good bed and bathroom. Not to mention the sparkling wine and welcome chocolates.
Breakfast is served in a restaurant attached to the hotel, with a varied menu and plenty of options to serve.
service was excellent

Perfect for a family stay! We had two connecting rooms, very comfortable. The hotel is in a very nice, quite area very close to Hyde Park and Paddington Station. Two underground lines within a 5 min walk.

We were extremely early for check in, so we asked if the hotel could take our bags for the afternoon while we headed out and enjoyed lunch in the city. When we came back we had a very simple check in, with a pre auth on my credit card and all the information for our stay given to us very clearly.

Our room was below the lobby and reception area, you can take the stairs or the lift down. The room was a good size even for the three of us. The lay out was twin beds and a camp bed at the bottom half of the room. Even though we were low down there was still good light getting into the room. The bathroom was very spacious and the shower was excellent, with a large rainforest shower head at the top of the shower. The beds were really comfortable and everyone slept well for the stay.

Breakfast was included in our rate and it was actually served in the Bella Italia restaurant that connects on to the hotel through the lobby area. All three mornings the breakfast was very tasty but on the middle morning especially we had a significant wait being served and then being brought out the food. We weren’t in any great hurry but it was a long long wait so I’d be aware of that when planning your breakfast times.

Close to paddington Station and very central for amenities, staff were very helpful and the Italian restaurant attached to the hotel was perfect after a long day traveling.
